Central park of Nikkilä
The Masterplan for the central park of Nikkilä was created by utilizing the method of participatory budgeting. The aim was to encourage participation from the locals with the design and choices made with the park plan.

Public spaces for the Dance House Helsinki
Helsinki will have a new building dedicated to the art of dance in 2022. The House of Dance is a major cultural project in the city that amplifies the already diverse range of events and the culture of the neighboring Kaapelitehdas building.

The Sipoonlahti school
The new Sipoonlahti school is one of the largest school centers in Finland. As part of the extension project, the entire schoolyard was renovated and a new local sport site was built in the area. The schoolyard serves as a versatile learning environment and is also a popular outdoor place for residents of the area outside the school hours.

Hartaanselänranta
Hartaanselänranta complements the existing urban structure of Oulu and completes the Suiston Luuppi, which circles the Oulujoki estuary, as a recreational route connecting the whole of Oulu. The estuary is the factor that most strongly builds Hartaanselänranta’s identity, and its ever-changing landscape serves as the starting point for the plan.

Resilient shoreline development at Vartiokylänlahti Bay
Nomaji defined the climate-proof shoreline development guidelines for the Vartiokylänlahti bay. Vartiokylänlahti is located in eastern Helsinki between Vuosaari and Vartiokylä.

Junatie – from a traffic route to an urban space
The Junatie competition was won by our proposal “Crossroads”. The competition called for ideas to transform a traffic node in downtown Helsinki into a high-quality and attractive urban space.

Resilient shoreline development: case Isosaari
Nomaji defined climate-proof shoreline development guidelines for the Isosaari island in Helsinki. The challenge was to manage complex climate impacts from the perspective of land use and nature values.

Design Principles for Outdoor Learning Environments
We defined a set of new design principles for school and kindergarten yards. The design guide is primarily intended for designers, but it also helps the client and users to define the needs and functions of the outdoor area.

RT-cards: Climate-conscious design guidelines
Nomaji created a climate-aware design guide set for Building Information. The guide set consists of three separate guides: “Basic information about the climate for designers”, “climate conscious design: landuse”, “climate conscious design: architecture”.
