Nomaji has completed a compact publication for the City of Helsinki about ecosystem services in an urban setting. It is an introduction to the varied benefits that green space offers for the citizens. The possibilities and threats to urban ecosystem services were identified in a series of workshops with the planning department employees. Also, the importance of ecological networks in urban areas (network of urban trees, blue network and meadow network) are discussed in the publication. The key message is to emphasize and raise awareness of the diverse benefits of different green and blue elements in the built environment.
The publication is available here (only in Finnish).
