Akola

Akola

The main building of the Akola manor was built in the 18th century by the Iijoki river in Northern Finland. At one time, the main building was prominent in the river landscape.

Vasikkasaari

The nature path structures of Vasikkasaari were completed in the fall of 2020 and are part of the Urban Eco Islands – Urban and Smart Island Tourism Destinations European Union initiative. The initiative strives to create new solutions for sustainable nature travelling.

Central park of Nikkilä

The Masterplan for the central park of Nikkilä was created by utilizing the method of participatory budgeting. The aim was to encourage participation from the locals with the design and choices made with the park plan.

Public spaces for the Dance House Helsinki

Helsinki will have a new building dedicated to the art of dance in 2022. The House of Dance is a major cultural project in the city that amplifies the already diverse range of events and the culture of the neighboring Kaapelitehdas building.

The Sipoonlahti school

The new Sipoonlahti school is one of the largest school centers in Finland. As part of the extension project, the entire schoolyard was renovated and a new local sport site was built in the area. The schoolyard serves as a versatile learning environment and is also a popular outdoor place for residents of the area outside the school hours.

Lammassaari

In 2016, the city of Helsinki started an EU funded project to improve the accessibility of urban nature and to promote nature areas as the city’s attraction. The existing Lammassaari boardwalk was popular but dilapidated.

The Rajatorppa School

The old school building “Ilpola” was replaced by a new building and the old, protected building, will be renovated. Together with the students and teachers, places for learning were designed in the yard.

Sammontalo school

Nomaji and the architecture office Rudanko + Kankkusen’s competition proposal, “Katras” received the second prize in the open architecture competition organised by the city of Lappeenranta. The aim of the competition was to find ideas and design solutions for the new community center in the Sammonlahti area, known as the “Sammontalo”.

Kivistö communal block

The purpose of the competition, organized by the City of Vantaa, was to find a communal and distinctive residential block concept for Kivistö. The winning yard concept combines urban living and wild nature into an interesting and supportive composition.
